Maison Tavel, the oldest private house in Geneva, provides an insightful look into the city's urban development and historical lifestyles. Reconstructed by the Tavel family after a 1334 fire, this historic mansion became a museum in 1986. Visitors can explore multiple levels featuring captivating exhibits, such as a guillotine and a detailed model of early Geneva. Its central location and welcoming, multilingual staff further enrich the visit. Entry is donation-based, with complimentary access to permanent collections and temporary exhibitions on the first Sunday of each month.
