Description

Wyman Park, an 88-acre public park in Baltimore, has a rich history dating back to the 1800s. Originally part of the Homewood estate, the land was donated to Johns Hopkins University in 1902 and later given to the City of Baltimore for public use. The park features a diverse landscape with native trees and a walking path along the Stony Run stream. Recreational fields are located at the park's entrances, and an overhead bridge provides connectivity for surrounding neighborhoods. Despite its historical significance and natural beauty, it's important to note that a portion of the parkland was sold back to Johns Hopkins University for development in 1961. Wyman Park is bounded by University Parkway and Sisson Street, with residential and university properties bordering its edges. Overall, the park offers a peaceful retreat and recreational opportunities for visitors, while also serving as an important part of Baltimore's urban landscape.
