Phosho Dough, a welcoming Vietnamese café originally known for its affordable and satisfying fare in North Oakland, has opened a second location in Berkeley, taking over the former KC’s BBQ space. The menu includes Vietnamese staples such as pho, banh mi, spring rolls, and vermicelli combos, all offered at excellent quality-to-price ratios. Portions are generous, with well-prepared proteins and a tasty, non-oily soup base. The service is friendly and efficient, and the interior features beautiful paintings, though decoration is still ongoing. Despite inconvenient parking, the family-friendly atmosphere and use of stoneware bowls enhance the dining experience. This new location continues to uphold the high standards set by its predecessor.
