Description
Playa Penino is a beach located at the SE end of the department of San José (Uruguay), in the current Ciudad del Plata. It extends from kilometers 23 to 31 of Route 1 (Uruguay) in the area determined by the mouth of the Santa Lucía River (Uruguay) and the adjoining area of the Río de la Plata. As part of the Santa Lucía Wetlands, you can see great biodiversity on the beach and in its surroundings. There are many plant and animal species that can be found in the place. In addition, there is a natural reserve for migratory birds, the Playa Penino Natural Reserve.
