20 Victoria, despite its Michelin star, has several shortcomings. The restaurant's policy of charging for absent guests and its inability to accommodate odd-numbered reservations is off-putting. The food, from poorly seasoned dishes to questionable ingredient freshness, does not meet Michelin standards. Service is equally lackluster, with inattentive staff and inadequate explanations of the dishes. Specific offerings like the Tomato and Crab and Niagara Gold cheese were disappointing, with confusing pairings and unremarkable flavors. Desserts were particularly problematic, marred by an off-putting fishy smell and cloying sweetness. While the complimentary bread was a highlight, the overall experience was underwhelming, making it difficult to justify a return visit.
