Description
The Great Trinity Forest in Southern Dallas spans 6,000 acres and offers a diverse outdoor experience with multiple trailheads and the Trinity River Audubon Center. Once a landfill, it has been transformed into a natural haven, though visitors should be prepared for wildlife encounters, including water moccasins and feral hogs. The well-maintained, mostly flat trails, including connections to the Joppa Preserve, are accessible for biking and walking. The scenery is enhanced by lakes and shaded areas, but occasional odors from nearby landfills and litter in some areas can detract from the experience.
